LOK – STUDENT ASSOCIATION AT HLK

Purpose
LOK’s purpose is to work for rights, prosperity, a healthy study environment and equal treatment for the students at School of Education and Communication (HLK), and to reconcile them in an association. We aim towards giving HLK’s students the best quality of education and an enriching student life.

About
LOK works all year around in the interests of its members at HLK. Involvement happens in all areas from education over inclusion to social life. For this matter the association is divided in committees overseen by and represented in the LOK Board, to deal with all aspects of the LOK agenda including countless projects and events throughout the year.

Organizational Structure
LOK’s members exists of all students at HLK that pays the mandatory student union membership fee. If a member wants to become a part of the Board of LOK, they apply through the Nomination Committee (NC). LOK also has six committees underneath them that has different work areas, responsibilities and aims. All the committees help LOK achieve their goals that is stated in their By-Laws.

By-Laws
The By-Laws is the structure of the organization. LOK must follow the By-Laws. Any amendments or additions must be the result of two identically worded resolutions being passed by two consecutive regular Bi-Annual meetings.
